The National Cadet Corps, or NCC, the Youth Wing of the Indian Armed Forces, is the world’s largest uniformed youth organization. Its headquarters is located in New Delhi, India. This organization is open to school and college students on a voluntary basis.
The National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organization, consisting of the Army, Navy, and Air Wing. The NCC recruits cadets from high schools, colleges, and universities all across India, training them to become disciplined and patriotic citizens. The Cadets are provided with basic military training in small arms and parades. After completing the course, the officers and cadets have no liability for active military service.

- The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure, and ideals of selfless service among young citizens.
- To create a human resource of organized, trained, and motivated youth to provide leadership in all walks of life and be always available for the service of the nation.
- To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the armed forces.
- To develop character, comradeship, discipline, leadership, a secular outlook, a spirit of adventure, and ideals of selfless service amongst the youth of the country.
Benefits of being in the NCC
- If students want to make it their career option, NCC cadets will get a lot of weightage. As they are directly connected with the Ministry of Defense, they will get to learn several things, be trained in selflessness, confidence, honesty, discipline, and hard work, and be entitled to receive Rs. 700.
- NCC camps are held all across India, giving students opportunities to visit new places, interact with their peers, and learn the art of independence.
- Along with military activities, students will also get to learn other skills, including parachuting, paragliding, and basic aviation courses.
